Religious leaders are often ‘first responders’ to tragedies in their communities. What theologies are they enacting in the public sphere, and what theologies are shaping the ways that they interpret suffering? This panel features scholars whose work is instrumental in interpreting trauma and crafting a theological vision for healing. Coffee and snacks provided. Panelists include: Willie Jennings (Duke University Divinity School), Susan Abraham (Loyola Marymount), Sharon Betcher (independent scholar), Mark I. Wallace (Swarthmore College)
