Harrell F. Beck Chair of Hebrew Scripture

BeckHarrell F. Beck Chair of Hebrew Scripture

Former School of Theology Professor Harrell F. Beck (STH’45, GRS’54) had a profound influence on many, who remain faithful to his teaching, preaching, and counsel. We are pleased to announce that the goal has been met to establish the Harrell F. Beck Chair of Hebrew Scripture in honor of Dr. Beck. This is a fitting testimony to his life and ongoing influence.

David Felten (STH ’88) has created a website with Dr. Beck’s transcribed stories and recordings. Take a look at it here and enjoy Dr. Beck’s wondrous words of wisdom!

Special thanks to the 694 donors as of June 28, 2017 who have made this legacy to Harrell Beck possible. New contributions to this endowment will continue to build the chair.  You can read more about the School of Theology’s successful efforts to fully fund the Beck Chair.

On Wednesday, September 27, Katheryn Pfisterer Darr was installed as the first Harrell Beck Professor. Learn more about the installation.
