Publications
One of the cardinal purposes of the Center for Global
Christianity and Mission is to support the publication of research on
Christianity as a global movement, with special emphasis on the missionary
contribution of nonwestern churches.
In addition to maintaining research projects of their own, Professors
Robert and Daneel co-edit the monograph series, African Initiatives in
Christian Mission (University of South Africa Press), which documents
and explores the spread of Christianity in Africa, with special focus
on African agency in missions outreach. The continued support of nonwestern
researches, who have much to contribute to the field but lack opportunity
to be published in their own countries, is vital to building a knowledge
base in world Christianity while advancing theological reflection and
education abroad.
