Join the Office of Community Life and Lifelong Learning for a brown bag lunch with Dr. Rita Nakashima Brock, visiting BU STH from Brite Divinity School. Dr. Nakashima Brock works with returned veterans and others toward recovery from moral injury, a condition in which one feels one has violated a deep part of one’s moral being and so experiences a great sense of self-worthlessness and lack of meaning in one’s life. She is author of Soul Repair: Recovering from Moral Injury After War; Proverbs of Ashes: Violence, Suffering, and the Search for What Saves Us; & Journeys by Heart: a Christology of Erotic Power.
