Rockville.
United Methodist Church. [CH-CT R6]
The first Methodist Society began in 1834, with the first
church constructed in 1847. In 1867, the congregation moved to a new, bigger,
brick church. A parsonage was purchased in 1889, and in 1890, a pipe organ purchased
from the First Congregational Church. In 1957, a decision was made to build a
new church, dedicated in 1959, and enlarged in 1989. The church is still open.
