The Nominating Process
The Boston University School of Theology Alumni/ae Association takes pleasure in honoring outstanding alumni and alumnae with the School of Theology Distinguished Alumni/ae Awards.

We invite you to nominate candidates in the following categories:

Religious
Leadership
Local Church Pastors
Educators
Artists
Sacred Arts
Chaplaincy
Pastoral Care
Academia
Social Justice
Public Leadership

Alumni/ae may be nominated for the following awards:

Service to the Community
To honor alumni/ae who, whether through volunteer service or paid work, have made exceptional contributions to the betterment of their communities or the circumstances of a group of people.

Service to the Profession
To honor alumni/ae whose work has brought them recognition within their professions or other fields of endeavor, whether in the field of Christian ministry or in other professional areas, or whose work has contributed significantly to the advancement of their professions.

Service to the Alma Mater
To honor alumni/ae who have enhanced the stature of the School of Theology and the Graduate School Division of Religious and Theological Studies through their voluntary association with the University.

Nominees should reflect the values of the STH mission statement, namely creative and critical inquiry in the theological disciplines; responsible Christian engagement with the world and its peoples, cultures, and issues of a diverse and changing world; and the formation and development of maturing communities of faith. Nominees should also be those who are responding to emerging environment and issues, role models for others in their fields, those who are "transforming," those recognized by peer groups as being distinguished, and those with a sustained record of achievement and service.

Nominations by the following groups will be considered:

Boston University alumni/ae
University faculty and staff
The School of Theology and Division of Religious and Theological Studies Student body
Friends of the School

Nominations will be accepted for both living and deceased alumni/ae.
