COMING BY PLANE-LOGAN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Taxi

Taking a taxi from Logan to Boston University will cost approximately $30 to $35.  If you do not have cash, please check that the taxi you take from the airport has the ability for you to pay by credit card.  Most taxis do at this point, but some do not, and it is better to know before you begin your ride.

Public Transportation (The “T”)

  1. If you choose to ride the T (the Boston subway/streetcar system) from the airport, take the free Airport Shuttle Bus from outside the airport terminal to the Airport T-stop on the Blue Line.
  2. You will need to buy a ticket ($2.00) and take the Blue Line inbound to the Government Center Stop.
  3. When you get to Government Center, change to the Green Line “B” Train (“outbound” toward Boston College).
  4. Take the Green Line “B” to the Boston University Central Stop, which is the third stop above ground after Kenmore.
  5. As you are facing campus, the School of Theology is across the street and directly to the left of the Boston University Marsh Chapel.  The Admissions Office is in Suite 108 at 745 Commonwealth Ave.

COMING BY BUS-GREYHOUND OR TRAILWAYS

COMING BY TRAIN

South Station

  1. If you come into South Station, take the Red Line T (Boston’s subway/streetcar system) inbound to Park Street Station.  You will need to buy a ticket ($2.00).
  2. When you get to Park Street, go upstairs to the outbound Green Line.
  3. Take the “B” (Boston College) train to the Boston University Central Stop–it’s the third stop above ground after Kenmore.
  4. As you are facing campus, the School of Theology is across the street and to the left of the Boston University Chapel.  The Admissions Office is in Room 108 at 745 Commonwealth Ave.

North Station

  1. If you come into North Station, take the Green Line inbound.  You will need to buy a ticket ($2.00).
  2. If the subway/trolley is not a “B” Line (Boston College), change at Park Street Station to the “B” Line.
  3. Take the “B” (Boston College) train to the Boston University Central Stop–it’s the third stop above ground after Kenmore.
  4. As you are facing campus, the School of Theology is across the street and to the left of the Boston University Chapel.  The Admissions Office is in Room 108 at 745 Commonwealth Ave.

COMING BY CAR VIA THE MASSACHUSETTS TURNPIKE

  1. From the Massachusetts Turnpike, take Exit #18 (Cambridge-Allston) to the left.
  2. Follow the sign for Cambridge after going through the toll booth.
  3. At the stop light (the Guest Quarters Suite Hotel is on your right), take a right onto Storrow  Drive.  The Charles River is now on your left.
  4. Follow Storrow Drive to the second exit on the right (Kenmore Square-Commonwealth Avenue).
  5. At the first stop light, turn right on Bay State Road.  Keep to the right at the fork.
  6. Bay State Road runs parallel to Commonwealth Avenue and ends in a parking lot.  Just before the parking lot, you should take a left on Granby Street and then a right on Commonwealth Avenue.
  7. Street parking is not ample, and you may have difficulty finding an available meter.  There is a private parking lot under Warren Towers, located at 700 Commonwealth Avenue, about two blocks east of the School on the opposite side of the street.  The Admissions Office is in Room 108 at 745 Commonwealth Ave.

COMING BY CAR VIA OTHER ROUTES

From the West

  1. If you are coming into Boston from the West, you should head toward the Charles River.  Once you are near the Charles, look for Kenmore Square/Commonwealth Avenue signs.  Kenmore Square is distinguished by a large “Citgo” sign on top of the Boston University Barnes and Noble Bookstore.
  2. With the Bookstore on your right, continue west on Commonwealth Avenue to 745 (on the right side of Commonwealth).  Street parking is not ample, and you may have difficulty finding an available meter.  There is a private parking lot under Warren Towers, which are located at 700 Commonwealth Avenue, about two blocks east of the School, on the opposite side of the street.  The Admissions Office is in Room 108 at 745 Commonwealth Ave.

From the East

Traveling east on Route 30 (Commonwealth Avenue) from Newton and other points west will bring you to Boston University.  Street parking is not ample, and you may have difficulty finding an available meter.  There is a private parking lot under Warren Towers, which are located at 700 Commonwealth Avenue, about two blocks east of the School, on the opposite side of the street.  The Admissions Office is in Room 108 at 745 Commonwealth Ave.

Public Transportation

If you will have a car during your stay in Boston, and if you are staying a distance from the School of Theology, you may choose to park at a convenient area and take public transportation.  The Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority (MBTA) operates many bus and subway/streetcar (nicknamed the “T”) lines.  If you board the T above ground, you will need either a ticket or exactly $2.00. Exact change is not required if you board the “T” underground.
