Graduation Information

Saturday, May 14 – Sunday, May 15, 2016

All graduating classes for the 2015/2016 academic year (September 2015, January 2016, and May 2016) walk at the May 2016 Commencement Ceremony.

Attendance at Commencement Events

All graduates of the University are invited to take part in all Commencement events. School of Theology students are encouraged to participate in the University’s Commencement Service at Nickerson Field, during which, by proclamation, the formal conferring of your degree takes place. All graduate level students will be seated together. A physical diploma will be handed to each STH graduate during the STH “hooding” ceremony in Marsh Chapel at 2pm on Saturday, May 14, 2016. This will be followed by an STH reception at 3:30pm in STH Room B24 (Oxnam Room).

The University’s Commencement events are terrific! School of Theology students are encouraged to participate as fully as possible. Doing so reminds us that the School of Theology is part of a much larger academic community. This is an important day of recognition for your personal commitment and your efforts to complete your degree program. Plan ahead: Students with pastoral responsibilities should arrange with their congregation for substitutions. If your churches or families are planning celebrations for this day, please be sure they don’t conflict with Commencement Weekend events.
