Martin Luther King, Jr., Fellowship Program

Deadline: Febuary 17, 2012 for the 2012-2013 academic year
Amount: Awards provide a stipend for living expenses and a scholarship for up to full-time tuition at the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences rate plus the George Sherman Union Fee. This fellowship may be renewed for up to two additional years.

Qualifications:

Nominees must be students who are U.S. Citizens, who are new to Boston University and beginning full-time graduate studies in any department or school of the University, and who are committed to the principles of social justice espoused by Dr. King.

  1. Application
  2. Departmental Letter of nomination
  3. Copy of Nominee’s Official letter of admission

Required documents – Not the Applicant’s Responsibility (documents prepared by the STH Office of Admissions):

  1. Seven copies of your application packet originally sent to BU
    • Application for admission to BU
    • Recommendation letters
    • Personal statement
    • Transcripts and test scores
    • Resume (if provided).

Submission of Application:

Nominations for these fellowships must be submitted with all supporting documents to the Graduate School, 705 Commonwealth Avenue, Room 112 or by email to Laura Wipf at lwipf@bu.edu (electronic submission is preferred). Please note that we require seven copies of each nomination packet. The deadline is Friday, February 17, 2012.
