Grace Episcopal Church, Newton Corner, MA is seeking a part-time (lay) Minister of Christian Formation for Children and Youth. This could be a field ed placement for a seminarian, or an ongoing part-time job. We seek someone with strong Christian faith who loves working with children, youth, and families. This is a position for someone organized, who is a good communicator and coordinator.

Grace Church is full of lively, friendly, and creative people who feel that ministry with children and youth is one of the most important things we do in our lives together in Christ. This past year our Church School learned about water, both spiritually in terms of our baptisms and as a precious resource in the world; delved into Ignatian spirituality and the practice of the Examen or daily examination of conscience; and painted a fabulous mural of “All Things Bright and Beautiful” in the parish kitchen, among other things. Grace is a great place to be, Christ-centered, hospitable, and fun, whether you are looking towards a future as an ordained minister, or following your vocation to work specifically with youth.

15 hours a week (hours negotiable), Godly Play experience a plus, basic musicianship (singing and guitar or another instrument) always handy.

For seminarians, other opportunities for ministry could be coordinated into this placement.

Send a letter of interest, résumé, and references to the Rev. Dr. Regina Walton, Rector,
