This position relates to the Director of Aging & Older Adult Ministries and the Director of Best Practices in the Leadership Ministries Division of GBOD.   As such, the successful candidate should have an affinity for ministries with older adults. The job also requires significant data base management, ability to self-start, good skills in planning, editorial skills, and skills in event hosting and support.

This position performs a full range of administrative/technical support including coordinating activities and projects to promote the mission of the Leadership Ministries Division. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated knowledge and understanding of office procedures; basic accounting knowledge; mastery of English language, grammar, punctuation; basic knowledge of event registration, data base management abilities, ability to handle multiple assignments, ability to remain flexible; ability to exercise courtesy and tact with a diverse group of external customers; ability to use discretion, judgment and initiative; ability to work in a multi-task, fast-paced environment; ability to work independently and in a team environment; knowledge of the United Methodist Church including awareness of UMC structure and polity; demonstrated proficiency on personal computer, including word processing, presentation, spread sheet and data base programs.

Education/ Experience

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience / One to three years of related job experience

Specialized Knowledge

Office management, superior interpersonal skills, event and project management; specific knowledge about financial processes, communication skills
