B.J. Stiles on Methodism’s “icon and albatross”
B.J. Stiles, the editor of the celebrated motive magazine during the tumultuous 1960s, was in residence at STH last October. A lecture he delivered entitled “motive Magazine: Methodism’s Icon and Albatross” was videotaped and is now available on BUniverse. Rev. Stiles has told us that he will be donating his motive and student movement papers to BUSTH. This will add significantly to the donation of papers and art from the estate of motive art editor Margaret Rigg last year. An article about Stiles’ residency is the lead in the Winter newsletter available on the website. Check them out!
