Shadrach L. Bowman (1851)

ed_bowmanSLShadrach Bowman was born May 2, 1829 in Berwick, Pennsylvania. He served as a pastor in several churches in Pennsylvania, before accepting a position at Dickinson College as professor of Biblical Literature in 1866. He completed his doctorate at Rutgers college in theology, and earned a second doctorate in systematic theology from DePauw University. In 1871 he returned to pastoral ministry, until he accepted the position of dean and professor of systematic theology at DePauw University in 1882. Bowman moved to Drew Theological Seminary in 1903. He died in 1906.
