Acturial Science

Did you know that upon graduation, you could automatically start a Boston University master’s program in Actuarial Science Actuarial Science-and have your graduate degree in one year?

Starting fall 2009, BU’s new “Four plus One” program-a collaboration between the College of Arts & Sciences Department of Mathematics & Statistics and the Metropolitan College Department of Actuarial Science-offers a direct path from your undergraduate math degree to an MS in Actuarial Science from BU’s Metropolitan College.

To be eligible, all you need is:

  • An overall GPA of 3.0 upon graduation
  • A grade of B or better in CAS/MET MA 581 Probability
  • A grade of B or better in CAS/MET MA 582 Mathematical Statistics

By meeting these criteria, you’ll have only 35 credits to complete for the master’s in Actuarial Science-taking just two semesters of full-time study (longer if you opt to study part-time). I encourage you to learn more about the MS in Actuarial Science , or download the brochure . If you are interested in the “Four plus One” program and think you might qualify, please make an appointment to meet with  Lois K.
