The Boston University School of Social Work is a dynamic, urban-based graduate school offering master’s and doctoral degrees, dual degree programs, and continuing professional education. We are committed to educating social workers skilled in a variety of contexts, from clinical practice to macro work in larger systems and organizations.
At the Charles River Campus in Boston, full-time, part-time, advanced standing, and dual degree options are available. In addition, we offer part-time programs at three off-campus sites and a national online program. The off-campus programs are designed for individuals with work and family responsibilities. Classes are held on weekends and field internships occur during the week in the students’ own communities. The online Master of Social Work program has two options to complete the MSW degree. The eligibility to pursue a specific track is dependent on previous human services experience. Utilizing a convenient online learning format, the program allows individuals to earn an MSW degree while continuing to live and work in their own communities throughout the United States. In field education—an integral part of the social work experience—students learn through hands-on practice with individuals, families, groups, and communities.
