Student Organizations

The Boston University School of Social Work supports various student organizations with:

  • Meeting space
  • The opportunity to apply for funding from the Student Organization’s budget
  • Consultation support

The Student Organization (SO) meets on the first Wednesday of each month from noon to 1 p.m. SO makes decisions about funding events, discusses curricular issues, and sets its own agenda. All MSW students are voting members when they attend SO meetings.

Students organize caucuses reflecting current interests. Caucuses have included:

  • ALANA (African/Black, Latino, Asian/Pacific Islander, and Native American) Caucus
  • Disability Caucus
  • GLBT (Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual & Transgender) Caucus
  • International Students Caucus
  • Spirituality Caucus

Students are encouraged to join and create new caucuses.
