BUSSW Seeks to Hire Part-Time Instructors and Course Facilitators

The Boston University School of Social Work (BUSSW) is committed to educating professional social workers who will become leaders in a complex, diverse and multicultural society, through the highest quality of teaching, scholarship, research, practice and political action.

BUSSW seeks to hire part-time Adjunct Instructors (lecturers) for our on-campus and off-campus programs, and part-time Course Facilitators (teaching assistants) for our online MSW courses. Instructors and Facilitators needed for courses in clinical practice, macro practice, human behavior in the social environment, social policy, research, racial justice, and ethics.

Adjunct Instructors (lecturers) for Charles River Campus and weekend off-campus programs in Chelmsford, Fall River and Cape Cod:

  • Applicants are required to hold a Masters of Social Work degree or its equivalent
  • A doctorate in social work or closely related field is desirable but not required
  • Applicants must show evidence of excellent teaching and training skills appropriate to the MSW curriculum
  • Those interested in teaching clinical or macro practice courses should have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a SW practitioner, with evidence of excellent skills in applied clinical practice (with individuals/families/groups) and/or macro practice (with communities/systems)

Part-time Course Facilitators for BUSSW Online Program:

  • Course Facilitators serve as teaching assistants in online MSW courses, answer students’ questions on course content, monitor online course discussions, grade papers and assignments in consultation with course instructor
  • Applicants are required to hold a Masters of Social Work degree or its equivalent
  • Online teaching or training experience preferred
