HIGHLIGHTS of 2007 GRADUATES EMPLOYMENT SURVEY
The employment survey of the School’s 2007 MSW graduates revealed that:
57% are employed in not-for-profit settings and about 25% in public services.
Nearly 53% are working in an agency that primarily serves an urban client population.
37% found their social work job prior to graduation—either by an early job search, being promoted, or continuing with the same employer. Of those who found a job after graduating, nearly 55% were offered a position within three months of graduation.
The top five fields of practice for graduates are (1) child welfare; (2) mental health; (3) family services; (4) health/medical; and (5) schools.
More than 86% report that their primary work is in Clinical Social Work Practice, including clinical practice with individuals, families, and/or groups and clinical case management.
Nearly 13% report that their primary work is in Macro Social Work Practice, including the areas of community development/advocacy, policy, and research
Nearly 45% report that their primary work is a blend of Clinical and Macro Social Work Practice.
The median salary range of the respondents is $40,000 to $45,000.
