Advising and Field Education

Field Education is a dynamic and integral part of the curriculum at Boston University School of Social Work. Field Education provides students with opportunities to apply what they learn in the classroom to actual practice in social work and other human service settings. Field placements are done concurrently with practice courses to foster the student’s integration of classroom and practical learning.

OCP administration works closely with students, faculty advisors, and agency personnel to ensure that the students’ field experiences are supportive of their professional development goals. Affiliated with over 500 agencies in New England
