How long is the program?
This is a three-year part-time program. It begins in September and ends in May of the third year.
Can I complete the entire MSW degree off campus?
The entire program is offered at the off-campus sites.
Will I have classes every weekend?
Students take one class at a time with usually a two-week break between classes. There are no classes on major holidays and students have additional time off in August.
Will I be able to work full-time while I complete the program?
Although this is considered a part-time program by University standards, it is an intensive program. During the first year students take two to three courses per semester and often work full time. During the second and third years in the program students take two courses per semester and in addition, do an internship for a minimum of 16 hours per week. Students wishing to work full time during the second and third years in the program must have flexible work schedules allowing time to do their two internships during the week.
How many hours do I have to spend each week doing an internship?
Students will have two internships while in the program. The foundation internship is 480 hours and occurs during the second year in the program (16 hours per week from September to May). The advanced internship is 720 hours and occurs during the third year in the program (24 hours per week for 9 months or 16 hours per week for one year).
When I complete the program will I already have my license?
Students graduating from this accredited program are eligible to apply for the LCSW exam in Massachusetts upon completion of the program.
Is it possible to take a class at another campus?
Yes. Students are allowed to take courses at any campus pending space availability. Pre-approval is required.
Can I take a class before applying to the program to see if this is the right fit for me?
Yes. The following courses are open to non-matriculated students pending space availability: HB 720, HB 721, SR 743, WP 700, and WP 701.

Are classes held during the summer?
Classes are held from September to the first week in August. There is time off for major holidays and between courses.
How much will the tuition cost be each year?
Students take 6 to 10 credits per semester. The program is 65 credits. Tuition at the off-campus sites is $485.00 per credit.
Is this program as rigorous as the one offered at the Charles River Campus?
Yes, the curriculum and faculty are the same; however the program structure is different. Students take one course at a time, each course runs for five weekends.
