Faculty Search: Half-Time Lecturer Boston University School of Social Work
The Boston University School of Social Work (BUSSW) is committed to educating professional social workers who will become leaders in a complex, diverse and multicultural society, through the highest quality of teaching, scholarship, research, practice and political action.
BUSSW seeks to hire a Half-Time Lecturer for our Charles River and off-campus MSW programs. This Half-Time Faculty position will teach four courses per year in human behavior in the social environment, racial justice and/or ethics, depending on the candidate selected.
Applicants must be available to teach at the Charles River Campus in Boston, the weekend off-campus programs in Chelmsford, Fall River, and Cape Cod, and possibly the online program.
Requirements for the position include the following:
- A masters of social work degree or its equivalent; a doctorate in social work or closely related field is desirable but not required
- Evidence of excellent teaching and training skills appropriate to the MSW curriculum
- Experience working with ethnically/racially diverse populations and teaching a diverse student body is desirable
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a social work practitioner, with evidence of excellent skills in applied practice.
