Cognitive Behavioral Treatment for Substance Users
Cognitive-behavioral therapy is an evidence-based approach for the treatment of nicotine, alcohol, and drug use disorders. This workshop will use a combination of lecture, interactive exercises, and group discussion to introduce the cognitive behavioral approach to substance use disorders. Participants will gain understanding of a cognitive-behavioral case conceptualization, experience with specific treatment techniques, and understand of the challenges of implementing cognitive-behavioral treatment in clinical practice.
