Certificate Program in Working with Adolescents
This post-graduate certificate program offers essential tools for effective work with today's adolescents. Participants gain practical strategies for engaging resistant or mandated clients, and the program features a strength-based focus, emphasizing relationship building and the development of healthy coping skills. The instructor explores the unique challenges of managing confidentiality with teens and young adults in various treatment settings. Topic areas include substance abuse, gang involvement, dating violence, unresolved grief, self harm, and premature pregnancy. The program uses class discussions, readings, case vignettes, and guest speakers. Participants have the opportunity to present current cases for in-class consultation.

Cost: $1100 (Non-refundable $250 deposit is due at time of registration)
Format: Class meets on Wednesdays, 6:00-9:00pm, for 12 weeks for a total of 30 hours.
