Online Certificate Program in Mental Health and Aging
Enrich your understanding of the major mental health conditions and substance abuse concerns facing older adults. This online Mental Health and Aging Certificate provides social workers and other health and social service practitioners with the information and training they need to work with older adults who have cognitive and behavioral health concerns. Topics include dementia, depression, suicide prevention, and substance use and abuse. There are five, four-hour courses (listed below) for a total of twenty hours of training. The courses and Certificate is totally online, so it can be taken anywhere and at any time of the day. Participants have six months to complete the program.
These courses have been deloped by Boston University School of Socail Work's Center for Aging and Disability Education and Research (CADER). They are created by leading experts in the field of aging and address the core skills needed for effective practice. CADER's online courses provide a learning experience focused on real-world challenges with research-based information, instructional activities, case studies, expert commentary and discussion boards to maximize learning. CADER is approved as a provider for social work continuing education by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, NASW, and ASWB.
The cost for the twenty-hour certificate is $450.
