Basic Coaching Certificate Program - Part II
Coaching in all its forms is gaining popularity and is a natural extension of social work practice. Coaching builds upon traditional social work skills of helping, emphasizing goal clarification and attainment to facilitate client change in life areas such as work, health, and personal well-being. This Basic Coaching Certificate Program, taught by Marilyn Edelson, social work coaching expert and author of Values-Based Coaching: A Guide for Social Workers and Other Human Service Professionals, provides a comprehensive introduction to coaching. The program includes an overview of coaching history, research, and current applications, followed by a substantive focus on the acquisition of core coaching competencies and skills. This 30-hour hands-on, interactive program is part one of a two-part program; participants who complete both this and the Spring 2013 Advanced Coaching Certificate are eligible to apply for the Associate Certified Coach status with the International Coaching Federation.
This is Part II of the Basic Coaching in Educational Settings for Social Workers with Marilyn Edelson. The course will be held at Boston University's Charles River Campus. You must have completed Part I to enroll in this course.
