Advanced Team Facilitation and Family Support in Wraparound for Parents with Complex Needs
Description
In an effort to better address the needs of children with significant emotional and behavioral disabilities, Massachusetts has implemented a set of services anchored by the wraparound planning and implementation process. Practitioners, both clinical and family providers, widely acknowledge significant challenges to successfully using wraparound for families in which parents as well as children have major mental health and other co-exising conditions. This workshop offers those who provide and supervise wraparound care practice - both team facilitators and family partners - knowledge and skills that will expand their capacity to more effectively ensure access, voice, and ownership for parents with mental health and co-occurring conditions. It will be co-facilitated by a senior wraparound program leader and a leader in the family support community. Participants will gain skills in applying principle-driven advanced team care planning and family support techniques as well as skills from rehabilitation and recovery practice for parents with complex needs.
