During the past five years, the Pay-for-Performance Research Program at the Health Policy & Management Department, Boston University School of Public Health, has become a nationally recognized resource for health plans, employer groups, providers, and researchers.

  • Completed a four-year national evaluation of Rewarding Results for the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality
  • Conducted an interactive faculty day for CMS’ staff and CMS’ Medicare demonstration leaders to exchange lessons learned from
    demonstration projects
  • Conducted an interactive Webinar to disseminate research findings for medical group practice leaders and policy makers from
    across the United States, “What it Takes for Small Practices to Succeed in P4P — Transforming Physician Practice Through
    Quality Improvement”
    • Developed and tested the reliability and validity of a survey tool to measure provider attitudes toward incentives
    • Disseminated research through peer reviewed articles and presentations to professional meetings, industry groups, and policy makers
      • AHRQ sponsored Safety Net ACTION Partnership – Multi-site Coordinated Evaluation of the Impact of Quality-based Payment Strategies
