Joanna Rorie, CNMAssociate Professor, Community Health Sciences
BiographyProfessor Rorie, Associate Professor of Community Health Sciences the Maternal and Child Health concentration. A graduate of Harvard University School of Public Health and Yale University Nurse-Midwifery Program, Professor Rorie has specific expertise in the care of high risk MCH populations. She has been widely recognized for her leadership in developing and implementing culturally competent programs in clinical settings. She received an excellence in teaching award from the American Collage of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM). She is also the recipient of the 2009 Distinguished Alumna Award for the School of Health Sciences at Simmons Collage. Professor Rorie is also a Fellow of ACNM. Professor Rorie began her doctoral studies at the Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandies University and is scheduled for completion in August 2012. Currently she is the Director of the Training and Education Core for the Boston University School of Public Health Prevention Research Center-Public Health and Housing (PRC-PHH).
