Certificates.

After completing the required core courses as part of the on-campus MPH, you will pursue a functional certificate that reflects your interest and the interdisciplinary needs of today’s public health workforce. You also may add a second functional certificate or choose a context-related certificate or additional electives.

Courses within each certificate are intentionally sequenced. As you progress through the certificate requirements, you will draw upon knowledge from previous coursework to apply concepts, content, and skills to demonstrate depth and competence in the certificate area.

Functional Certificates

When choosing a functional area, think about the skill set you will need to make an impact on the field. 16 credits (unless otherwise noted). One certificate required, you may pursue up to two.

Context Certificates

When choosing a context certificate, consider the area or population of greatest interest to you. 12 credits. You may pursue one context certificate in addition to your certificate in a functional area.
