“Emerging Concepts in Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy.” Speaker: Dr. Ann McKee, Professor of Neurology & Pathology; Director, Neuropathology Core; Co-Director of the Center for the Study of Traumatic Encephalopathy Using several case examples of former athletes, Dr. McKee will discuss what we know about CTE’s clinical symptoms and neuropathological features as well as how the disease progresses in severity and what are the underlying pathogenetic mechanisms. She will also explore the major challenges in research and highlight new research aimed at methods to detect CTE during life.
