Message from Student Services:

Calling all SPH students, staff, and faculty: What are you doing on Sunday, June 7? Join SPH as we participate in the 30th anniversary of the AIDS Walk and 5k Run!

More than 700 people are newly diagnosed with HIV every year right here in Massachusetts. Between 2000 and 2012, the number of people living with HIV/AIDs in Massachusetts increased 49 percent, which created considerable demands on existing prevention and treatment programs.

Your efforts will raise awareness and funds to support the AIDS Action Committee of Massachusetts achieve their goal of reducing the epidemic and related health inequities as well as provide healthier outcomes for those infected and those at risk.

All SPH students, staff, faculty, and friends are welcome. To register with the SPH Team, visit the team’s website. A limited number of SPH team T-shirts will be available, so please sign up as early as possible so that we can get a correct count.

If you cannot attend the walk, please considering sponsoring the SPH team. To make a donation, go to the team website and select “Donate Now.” You can also join our fundraising efforts prior to the walk.

Please contact our team leader, Lindsey Garrison, at lgarris@bu.edu with any questions or for more information.
