Dear Colleagues:

I hope you are all having a wonderful start to the holiday season.

We have a busy close to the year on this end. This month we are hosting a Public Health Forum on December 12 on “Precision Public Health: Balancing Scientific Investment and Prevention” with Donna Arnett, dean of the University of Kentucky College of Public Health. I hope you will be able to join us in person or via the livestream. We are also getting excited to kick off our 2018 Think. Teach. Do. Receptions with our event in San Francisco on January 10. Visit our events schedule today to see when we will be visiting a city near you.

As 2017 comes to a close, please consider honoring a professor, staff member, or friend who played an integral role in your public health journey with a gift to the Future of Public Health Fund. The Future of Public Health Fund is the foundation upon which we can build a strong school to support our mission—it is the scaffolding for our aspirations. From student scholarships to cutting-edge research, from program development to fieldwork sparked by global health needs, the fund provides support for the school’s most pressing, and impactful, pursuits in the 21st century. You can make your gift online or visit our giving page for instructions.

Finally, as some of you may know, in 2017, our school welcomed its largest incoming class ever. This achievement reflects the hard work of many, from the students, faculty, and staff to you, our alumni community, who each day serve as exemplary ambassadors for SPH. To continue these efforts, we have prepared a brand-new admissions video that we are excited to share. It is meant to be bold, to communicate the urgency of our mission and the stakes of our present moment. I hope you enjoy it.

Best wishes for a terrific month and end of year.

Warmly,

Sandro
