Student Financial Services
Student Financial Services (SFS) at the Boston University Medical Campus is responsible for the coordination of need-based financial aid and federal loans for BU School of Public Health. Students may be eligible for the following:
- need-based financial assistance (scholarships for first year students)
- work-study (ask SFS about availability)
- educational loans (Federal Direct, Perkins, information regarding PLUS loans)
Students seeking institutional and/or federal need-based aid should visit the Student Financial Services website for application procedures. Please note that financial aid packages are offered annually for the fall and spring semesters. Students must apply for aid each year and packages are subject to change from year to year based on availability of funding. You may also request aid for summer term.
Master of Public Health Applicants
Domestic applicants to the MPH and dual degree programs should submit the following materials if the applicant is planning to apply for aid while attending Boston University. Dual degree students should apply for aid with the School of Public Health only for the year(s) they will primarily be studying in SPH. MBA/MPH students should only be paying tuition and applying for aid through the School of Management for the duration of their studies.
- Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- Need Access application
- Tax form(s) from the last completed tax year
- Any supporting documentation listed on the SFS website.
Master of Science and Doctoral Applicants
Domestic applicants to the MS, DrPH, and PhD programs at Boston University School of Public Health should submit the FAFSA if interested in applying for federal aid, including loans. Applicants are also encouraged to review Funding Opportunities within Boston University as well as contact the departments to which they have applied for additional funding information.
