Project 1 attends brown-bag lunch event at MassDEP
At the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) Office of Research and Standards (ORS) brown-bag lunch event on December 8th, Project 1 Leader Ann Aschengrau presented on “Long-Term Neurotoxic Effects of Early Life Exposure to Tetrachloroethyene (PCE)-Contaminated Drinking Water”. Attendees included 12 people from MassDEP ORS and the Bureau of Air and Waste. There were many questions for Dr. Aschengrau throughout the presentation, including questions about study design and statistical interpretation. MassDEP shared they would be interested in help from BUSRP on epidemiological literature reviews for projects they are working on. Dr. Aschengrau mentioned trainees and student practicums, and the idea of them helping with these tasks was very well received. The event was a success with about 2 hours of conversation and a bi-directional exchange (photos below). This was the second brown bag lunch event organized by the BUSRP Research Translation Core in partnership with MassDEP ORS.
