Dear Colleagues:

I am pleased to welcome to our community Jacoba Johanna van Heugten, who will be joining us at the end of April as our new assistant dean of development and alumni relations. Jacoba is an enthusiastic and seasoned Boston-based fundraiser. She is currently the director of development and a member of the executive team at AIDS Action Committee, where she helped raise more than $20 million during her tenure. She brings comprehensive knowledge of fundraising strategies for public health initiatives and an in-depth understanding of individual, corporate, foundation, and event giving. With a strong commitment to health equity, Jacoba is excited to leverage her fundraising experience in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to advance the mission of SPH. A native of Corpus Christi, Texas, Jacoba is a graduate of BU’s Pardee School of Global Studies and the Institute for Nonprofit Management and Leadership Certificate Program. I am very much looking forward to having Jacoba working with our excellent Development and Alumni Relations team going forward. Please join me in thanking our DAR team, which has continued our development and alumni relations work admirably as we transitioned leaders, and in welcoming Jacoba to the SPH community.

Warmly,
