Preferred Suppliers

Boston University Sourcing & Procurement meets the supply chain management needs of more than 9,000 faculty and staff and over 30,000 students by awarding agreements to suppliers that provide quality products at an optimal total value to the BU community.

A Preferred Supplier is a supplier that Boston University has determined meets its expectations for lowest total costs including quality, delivery and/or price. Price agreements and/or contract terms must be on file in order for a supplier to be designated as a Preferred Supplier.

Through the Strategic Sourcing process, Boston University is able to achieve administrative and operating efficiencies while complying with competitive contracting requirements. All supplier proposals are evaluated based on a set of objective financial and non-financial criteria. Cross-functional teams are formed to provide extensive input regarding criteria used in contract development and awards.
