Product Categories

The Product Category is a code that represents a type of product or service. At BU, UNSPSC codes are used as Product Categories.

• When selecting Catalog items in a Shopping Cart, the Product Category (and G/L account) will default automatically.
• When entering a Free Text item in a Shopping Cart, the Shopper must select the correct Product Category from a drop-down list. The correct G/L account will then default automatically.
