Preferred Suppliers

Boston University’s Sourcing & Procurement department meets the supply chain management needs of more than 9,000 faculty and staff and over 30,000 students by awarding agreements to suppliers that provide the best quality products and complement BU’s strategic plan at the optimal total value to members.

All supplier proposals are evaluated based on a set of objective financial and nonfinancial criteria. Cross-functional teams are formed to provide extensive input regarding criteria used in contract development and awards. Contracts are awarded to suppliers offering the best overall value, and at times, may not be the lowest purchase price to the University.

Through the strategic sourcing process, Boston University is able to achieve administrative and operating efficiencies while complying with competitive contracting requirements. Sourcing’s goal is to always provide market-leading value to the BU community.
