Online Booking for Travel Made Easy With Concur Travel (formerly known as Cliqbook)
In response to commercial online travel booking sites like Orbitz and Expedia, BU Travel Services introduced Concur Travel (formerly called Cliqbook) in 2008. The online booking tool functions in much the same way as commercial sites, in that you are able to search for air, rail, hotel, car and dining, with the added bonus of having Boston University’s contracted discounts loaded into the system so you are paying the lowest possible fare. Additionally, internal service requests, known in SAP as ISRs, are accepted as forms of payment. All major credit cards can also be used.
Take a few moments to review these screenshots and learn how easy it is to use Concur Travel to book all your University travel needs.
What are the advantages of using the online booking tool Concur Travel?
- You gain access to all Boston University’s discounts with preferred vendors
- Security – in case of emergency, administrators, loved ones, and BCD managers are able to easily contact you to provide assistance in any way possible. If you book through an outside source such as Orbitz, your whereabouts are unknown, affording you no assistance in times of trouble.
- It’s FREE – there are no transaction fees associated with booking online via Concur Travel
- It saves time
- You have the freedom to choose your own travel arrangements
- You are able to store personal travel preferences, including frequent flier programs in the travel profile, which are automatically applied to reservations
- You are able to pay for airfare with an ISR in SAP
How Do I access the online booking tool Concur Travel?
- Visit www.bu.edu/travel
- Click on the first option on the top of the page that reads “Need to Book Travel?”
- Complete email request & look for response email from the travel manager
- Log back into www.bu.edu/travel and add this website to your allowed browser pop ups. Directions for this are listed in the FAQs and BU Travel News sections of site(you will only have to do this one time on each computer that you use to access the site).
You will now see that the previous tab entitled “Need to Book Travel?” now says “Access Concur Travel/Book Trip.” A new window will appear. This is Concur Travel, the online travel booking tool.
It is HIGHLY recommended that you take a moment to complete your travel profile in Concur Travel. Here you may store personal travel information such as contact information, credit card numbers, department information, frequent flier numbers, seat preferences, AAA memberships, add travel arrangers, and complete new TSA Secured Flight information.
