Steps to becoming a registered supplier at Boston University

Suppliers interested in doing business with Boston University are required to fill out and submit a registration. To register, please follow the instructions below:
  1. Go to http://www.bu.edu/sourcing/suppliercenter/registration/
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on “Click Here” under the Begin Registration section.
  3. Locate the two-word security code and type it into the box below the display. Provide your email address in the email address box and click “Submit”.
  4. Provide your email address in the email address box and click “Submit”
  5. Once submitted, you will receive the following confirmation message:
  6. Check your email inbox right away for a message entitled “Boston University Supplier Registration Request” from supplier@bu.edu and click on the link in the body of the email message:

  8. You must provide the following required information:
    • Supplier Name – Must match your company name as reported on your W-9.
    • Please select the appropriate Tax Reporting Option – Select one of the three options and provide an Identification Number. If you get the following message that the “Provided Tax ID already exists in the system”, please stop and contact BU Sourcing at supplier@bu.edu. This message is an indication that your company had previously submitted a registration and your information is already stored in our system. If necessary, we may ask for additional information to validate the request and to add additional “Order From” and “Remit To” locations if they are not already in the system.
    • Provide “First Name”, “Last Name” and “Email Address” and click “Submit”
  9. Check your email inbox for a message from supplier@bu.edu and click on “Click Here” in the body of the message. This will take you to our registration page.
