Spring 2011 Apple bulk buy initiative

Information Services & Technology (IS&T), in cooperation with Sourcing & Procurement, is pleased to announce new standard Apple configurations and the Spring 2011 Apple bulk buy initiative. By participating in these bulk purchases and leveraging the buying power of the entire University, your department can save significantly on select BU standard configurations: - 10% off MacBook Pro standards - 10% off MacBook Air standards - 5% off iMac standards (new models just announced May 3rd!)

Please note: the deadline to participate in the Spring 2011 bulk purchase is Wednesday, May 18th.

How to Participate

You can view the IS&T Recommended Standard Configurations by going to the following link: Click HERE to view Apple configurations. (BU Login and Kerberos password required to view the page) Instructions on how to submit a requisition to Sourcing & Procurement with your choices can also be found here.

Don’t forget to consult with your IT support representative before ordering.

Benefits of Buying Standard Configurations

The configurations of these Apple laptops and desktops have been selected to meet the demands of the majority of Apple purchases at the University. They represent the latest technology from Apple, and the selection has been expanded to include MacBook Airs and iPads. Each laptop and desktop includes an AppleCare Protection Plan, giving your department three years of warranty support for better cost management. The savings offered in this bulk buy means you are paying even less than the already low standard educational price. In addition to saving money on new institutional purchases, standardization lowers the total cost of ownership through reduced support costs. It encourages collaboration and efficiency between all BU IT support staff as more and more departments support the same standards and develop a greater body of knowledge about the same models. Please remember that to participate in the Spring 2011 bulk order and take advantage of the special pricing, you must submit your requisition by Wednesday, May 18th, 2011. If you are not able to make this deadline, we hope to offer another opportunity this Fall. Thank you for your consideration! IS&T and Sourcing & Procurement
