BIO AND RESEARCH
Mustapha Hashim Kurfi was born in Kaduna- Central Northern Nigeria. He holds a B.Sc. with honors in Sociology and a M.Sc. in Sociology from Bayero University, Kano, Nigeria, where he has served as faculty since 2004. In 2010 he completed his second Master’s degree, a M.A. in International Affairs with focus on African Studies from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio- U.S.A.
His research interests include: ethnography, inequality, environment, family and community, social change, religious and Non-profit organizations. He will be examining how Faith-Based Organizations serve as tools for transforming the lives of special-needs categories, notably orphans and vulnerable children in Northern Nigeria.
