Courtney Feldscher Sociology 248D | cofeld@bu.edu BIO AND RESEARCH I received a B.A. in Sociology and a B.A. in Criminology from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2003. After graduation I worked in Manhattan as a Trademark & Intellectual Property Analyst for a leading trademark and research copyright firm. I came to Boston University in 2005 to pursue a Ph.D. in Sociology. My research interests include work & organizations, economic sociology, criminology, and the sociology of media and popular culture. My dissertation research will focus on the real estate market in terms of the social, economic, and cultural meanings embedded in the concept of home ownership. In particular, how homeowners’ associations develop, manage, and protect meaning and value. My teaching interests include work & organizations, economic sociology, criminology, the sociology of media and popular culture, and the sociology of time use.
