COMMENCEMENT SPEAKER MELISSA WEINER FOUNDS BRIGHTER WORLD BOOKS
Melissa Weiner (BU, Class of 2000), Assistant Professor of Sociology at Quinnipiac University, spoke at Department of Sociology Commencement, May 2010. After receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology at BU, Melissa went on to obtain her PhD in 2006 from the University of Minnesota. She is the author of Power, Protest and the Public Schools (2010) and also the founder of Brighter World Books, a non-profit organization devoted to providing individual schools in South Africa with books.
