Rabat Language and Liberal Arts Program, Morocco
In the heart of Rabat’s medina, students live, learn, and explore the language and culture of North Africa. The Rabat Language & Liberal Arts Program takes students into the world of Arabic language and into the culture of Islam and North Africa, in Morocco’s cosmopolitan capital city. Along with an intensive study of Arabic language, students explore the history, politics, and religion of Morocco and this ever-changing region of the world through coursework, homestays, and excursions. Rabat Language and Service Program (Summer)
Through language study and a volunteer partnership with a host organization working on education, health care, children’s welfare, women’s rights, and other critical issues, this program will give you a unique immersion in the life and society of this fascinating city, country, and region. Bogaziçi University Exchange, Istanbul, Turkey
When it comes to Turkey, the history of the area and the passion of its people are unique in the world. Like many visitors (dating back to Alexander the Great), you could easily become entranced by this lovely country. Boston University students have the opportunity to directly enroll at Bogaziçi University (Bosphorus University). Located in Istanbul, the main part of this expansive campus sits on a hill overlooking the scenic Bosphorus Strait and is just minutes away from the shores of the Black Sea. Middle East Technical University Exchange, Ankara, Turkey
When it comes to Turkey, the history of the area and the passion of its people are unique in the world. Like many visitors (dating back to Alexander the Great), you could easily become entranced by this lovely country. The forested campus of Middle East Technical University (METU) lies just outside of Ankara and includes serene Lake Eymir. Students have the option of living on campus in dormitory facilities. American University of Beirut Exchange, Lebanon
An important Mediterranean port city, Beirut is a lively hodgepodge of cultures and history, offering a superb place to study abroad. Boston University students have the opportunity to enroll directly at the American University of Beirut (AUB) for a semester or an academic year. The American University of Beirut (AUB) was founded in 1866 as a private, independent, non-sectarian institution of higher learning and is now a major university with over 7,000 students located on a 73-acre campus overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. The university provides a rigorous curriculum in the American liberal arts tradition and the language of instruction is English.
