Research Interests:

Dr. Cozier is interested primarily in the area of minority health, black women’s health in particular, because this remains an important and understudied area of research. Specific research interests include examining risk factors for hypertension and cardiovascular disease, the relationship between the built or residential environment and health, the role of psychosocial factors such as racism and stress in the development of poor health outcomes, and the role of genetics in the development of cancer and cardiovascular disease in African-Americans.
