Safe Zone Workshop

Learning Outcome: Participants will have a better understanding of the needs of LGBT students, faculty, or staff on campus, and will serve as a resource for individuals seeking support or referrals.
Description: The Safe Zone workshop is a program that provides participants with information regarding the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community. Specifically, topics related to coming out, gender identity, being an ally, and community resources are topics addressed. At the conclusion of the workshop participants are presented with a Safe Zone card, which can be displayed on someone’s door, in an office, or residence hall room. Workshops are offered throughout the academic year, if the current schedule does not meet your needs, a workshop can be set up for your office or department.
