Alcohol & You: An Owner's Manual

Learning Outcome: Students will be able to identify the risks of over-consumption of alcohol and strategies for safer alcohol consumption.
Description: Students will learn about the physiological effects of alcohol, and will discuss their own expectations when they consume alcohol, as well as negative outcomes they’d like to avoid. They will learn ways to make their alcohol consumption safer and more responsible, such as reducing frequency of consumption, quantity of drinks consumed, etc. The Boston University alcohol policy and related resources will also be discussed.

Learning Outcome: Faculty and staff will be able to identify strategies for discussing alcohol and drug use with students and list resources where students may be referred for additional services.
Description: Faculty and staff will learn how to discuss alcohol and drug use with students and will be given the opportunity to role-play these scenarios. Issues of confidentiality and recommended resources for referral will be discussed.
