AlcoholEdu® Directions for Parents

Welcome to BU, parents of 1st-year students!

Dangerous drinking by some students is an issue that affects nearly every college campus in the country. Many 1st-year students choose not to drink, but will still be exposed to the misuse of alcohol.

As part of our comprehensive alcohol prevention program, Boston University has partnered with EverFi to bring your 1st-year student AlcoholEdu for College® – an online and science-based alcohol abuse prevention course designed to help students make well-informed decisions about alcohol and reach their academic goals.

BU requires that each member of the incoming first-year class complete Part 1 of AlcoholEdu with a passing score of 70% before arriving on campus.

We have made available to you AlcoholEdu for Parents® as an optional tool for facilitating conversations about alcohol use in college. This program aligns with the AlcoholEdu student course can be accessed below.

IMPORTANT: AlcoholEdu for College® will be available to students beginning in July, 2015. All incoming students will receive an email with instructions for completing the course, including login information.
