Meet Our Staff

Margaret Ross, MD, Director of Behavioral Medicine

Margaret Ross, MD, Director of Behavioral MedicineI was born and bred in beautiful New Jersey, and I was an undergraduate at Bryn Mawr College, where I graduated magna cum laude in biology, and then from Harvard Medical School. I trained in pediatrics (MGH) and then psychiatry (McLean), and did my last year of residency as a fellow at Harvard University Health Services. I worked at MIT from 1979 until 2002 as a psychiatrist, patient advocate, and administrative director of Health Education. From 2002 until 2007, I was Associate Director of the Adult Outpatient Department at Cambridge Health Alliance, specializing in women's mental health issues and eating disorders. I am married to a pediatrician and we have three grown children, all of whom have gone through a lot of school!  Since July 2007, I have been the Director of Behavioral Medicine at BU Student Health Services.  Working with college and graduate students is a tremendous opportunity—these are exciting and challenging years in a person’s life—and the times we live in are fast-paced and ever-shifting.  I am committed to offering expert and compassionate care and welcome every chance to be of help to the students of Boston University.
